Information: Peter Kiesewetter was born in 1945 in Marktheidenfeld (Germany)). He studied composition with Günter Bialas in Munich. He worked for the cultural program of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corp. and taught music theory, aural training and music morphology at the Munich University. He contributed to music quarterlies and several broadcasting stations. Until 1982 he wrote about 1000 reviews, mostly about old music and composed widely from 1986. He was made honorary professor at the Munich University in 1991. He taught at the Richard-Strauss Conservatory in Munich and developed a contrabass dulcimer together with Birgit Stolzenburg and dulcimer builder Klemens Kleitsch.
