Information: From Wikipedia Roel van Oosten ( Hague , 14 June 1958 ) is a Dutch composer . Van Oosten studied composition at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague with Peter Schat and Louis Andriessen, and piano with Else Krijgsman. He received a scholarship from the French and Dutch Ministry of Culture in 1984 to continue to study the French composer Betsy Jolas . In Paris he also followed the analysis and composition class of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique. In 1987 Van Oosten was selected to live one year in the studio co-founded by the art movement De Stijl, Theo van Doesburg in Meudon , France . He wrote works for orchestra , chamber music , musical theater , but also pieces for special occasions like the opening of the parliamentary year, children's concerts and dance performances. His pieces were played by the Residence Orchestra, the North Holland Philharmonic Orchestra, the Dutch Ballet Orchestra, the Asko Ensemble, the Percussion Group The Hague and the Osiris Trio. Van Oosten brought his work to include France , Britain , China , the United States ( Carnegie Hall ) and New Zealand. Pieces of him were recorded for radio and television and recorded on CD. Van Oosten received the European AGEC-composition prize (prize of the European Choral Federation) in 2001 for his work Les Amours for chorus and orchestra
