| Information: | David Stephen 1869 - 1946 Born in Dundee. Virtually a self-taught musician, he was organist for several Dundee churches and conducted the choral societies of Dundee, Arbroath and St Andrews. In 1903, he was appointed musical director of the Carnegie Trust, Dunfermline and became a 'weighty' influence within Scottish musical circles. Compositions include Symphonies in F and D, Concert Overture, Hebrides Overture, and several large scale choral works. |
